The SDB3 is a solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2013. It is the third signature model for Swedish bassist Sharlee D'Angelo who is best known for his work with the melodic death metal band Arch Enemy. It is made in Indonesia.
The SDB3 replaced the SDB2, which has a neck-through-body construction.
The SDB3 features an Iceman series mahogany body bolted to a maple and bubinga neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with iron cross position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez PFR passive bass pickups, a Mono-rail fixed bridge, a plastic nut and Ibanez tuning machines. The rear control cover features a reproduction of D'Angelo's signature.
For 2018 the rosewood fretboard was replaced with jatoba and the neck was switched to maple and walnut. For 2019 the mahogany body was replaced with nyatoh. For 2021 the fretboard material was changed back to rosewood.
