The SB1500, referred to as the SB1500SBG in the European market, is a four-stringsolid-body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 1992 as part of the S Bass series. It was made in Japan by FujiGen.
The body shape of the S Bass line is a very close copy of the solid body guitar S series, and it sports a version of the iconic pointy headstock known from Ibanez guitars and the Roadbass series.
The SB1500 features a thin, sculpted, double-cutway buginga body bolted to a five piece bubinga and wenge neck with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard and abalone oval position markers. Components include EMG-P and EMG-J active pickups routhed through an Ibanez EQ-B II preamp, an AccuCast B-IV bridge, and Ibanez tuning machines.
The SB1200 is a similar model with a painted mahogany body and maple neck with rosewood fretboard.
