The SA160 is an SA series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2000. It was produced in South Korea.
The SA160 features a sculpted mahogany body bolted to a one-piece maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot position markers. Components include a synchronized tremolo bridge and Ibanez Powersound pickups with a humbucker at the bridge mounted in a plastic pickup ring and single-coils in the neck and middle positions, a TZ30 synchronized tremolo bridge, a plastic nut, and Ibanez die cast tuning machines.
For 2001 the bridge was changed to the new SAT30 tremolo, and the pickups were changed to Ibanez Axis units in the same HSS configuration. The body material was listed as nato for 2003, but reverted to mahogany the following year. For 2005 the neck was changed to a three piece maple construction.
The SA160QM is a similar model with a quilted maple top. The SA160AH is a similar model with an ash body.
