- For the earlier model with the same name, see SA160QM (2001–2005).
The SA160QM is an SA series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in mid 2016. It was produced in China.
The SA160QM features a sculpted quilted maple top on a mahogany body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include a SAT Pro II non-locking synchronized tremolo bridge and Ibanez pickups with a humbucker at the bridge and single-coils in the middle and neck positions. This HSS pickup configuration is typical of the SA series.
In mid-2017 the rosewood fretboard was replaced with a board made of treated New Zealand pine.
A similar model without the exotic top, the SA160, was produced until 2008. A similar model with a flamed maple top, the SA160FM has been offered since 2012. The SA160AH with an ash top was added in 2017.
The SA160QM was available from August 2016.[1]
The SA160QM was discontinued in 2018.
