The S970CW is an S series solid body guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2012. It was among the the first S series models in the mid-tier Indonesian Premium line. In the US market it was sold as the S970W.
The S970CW features a claro walnut veneer top with maple binding on a sculpted African mahogany body bolted to a titanium reinforced maple and walnut Wizard neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with maple binding and offset mother of pearl dot position markers. Components include Ibanez pickups with a pair of CAP-CL humbuckers flanking a CAP-VM1 single-coil, a ZR2 double locking tremolo bridge with a ball bearing pivot and a removable ZPS3 tuning stabilizer, Ibanez die-cast tuners and collet knobs.
From 2013 the titanium reinforcing rod in the neck was omitted.
The S970WRW is a related model with a rosewood veneer top, a wenge and bubinga neck, and an Edge Zero II tremolo bridge with 2-point kinfe-edge pivot.
