The S7420 is a seven string S series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2000. It was made in Japan by FujiGen. It was the first seven string S series model since the 540S7 was discontinued in 1993.

The S7420 features a mahogany body bolted to a maple and bubinga neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot position markers. Components include a Lo-TRS 7 double locking tremolo bridge and Ibanez Vintage 77 and Vintage 87 humbucking pickups.

The S7420FM is a similar model with a flame maple top.

The S7420 was discontinued after just one year, and Ibanez wouldn't produce another seven-string S until 2007 when the S7320 was introduced. In 2010, a new S7420 was introduced as a 24 fret replacement for the S7320.
