The Ibanez S5470F is an S seriesPrestige electric guitar model and one of the first 24-fret S guitar models made widely available for the public, introduced along with the S5470, S5470BW and E-Gen in 2008. Also, it was the return of Japanese-made S Prestige guitars as all S Prestige models from 2005 to 2007 were made in Korea. Other features include a mahogany body with flamed maple top, Ibanez-designed pickups and the ZR2 tremolo.
In 2009, an altered mid pickup was introduced. Additions for 2010 were the new Super Wizard HP Prestige neck, the Black Haze finish previously only available in Japan and the all new Sapphire Blue finish for the US.
A similar model with a koa top was issued as the S5470K in 2010 and another one with a quilted maple top as the S5470Q in 2011. A new Dark Shadow finish was offered in 2013. The model was discontinued after the 2013 model year.
