The S2170FW is an S series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2006. It was produced in South Korea as part of the upscale Prestige line. It was also referred to in at least one catalog as the S2170FM.
The S2170FW features a decorative poplar burl top with binding on a mahogany body bolted to a maple and bubinga Wizard II neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and a special inlay only at the 12th fret. Components include DiMarzio IBZ pickups with a pair of humbuckers flanking a single-coil, a ZR double locking tremolo bridge with a removable zero-point tuning stabilizer, a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
The S2170FB is a similar model with a bubinga top; the S2170SE is another similar model with a decorative ebony top. The S2170 is a version without the exotic top.
Like all South Korean-made Prestige models, the S2170FW was discontinued after 2008 when all Prestige production was moved to Japan.
