The RS505 is a Roadstar II series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1983. It was made in Japan as part of the Roadstar Deluxe line.
The RS505 features a birdseye maple top with cream binding on an alder body bolted to a maple neck with a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot position markers. Components include a trio of Ibanez Super Power 6 single coil pickups mounted in pickup rings with the bridge askew, a Hard Rocker synchronized tremolo bridge, Sure Grip II control knobs and Smooth Tuner II tuning machines.
The brown sunburst and cherry sunburst examples have cream pickups and mounting rings while the black finish has black pickups. The RS1500 is a more upscale related model. The RS405 is a related model without the exotic top and with different pickups and a pickguard.
