The RS1500 is a Roadstar II series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1983. It was made in Japan as part of the Roadstar Custom line.
The RS1500 features a neck through body construction with ash body wings with an arched top attached to a three piece laminated maple neck with a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot position markers. Components include a trio of Ibanez Super Power 6 single coil pickups mounted in pickup rings with the bridge askew, a Hard Rocker Pro single locking tremolo bridge, Sure Grip II control knobs and Smooth Tuner II tuning machines.
Controls consist of a master tone and a shared volume for the neck and bridge pickups along with a 3-way pickup selector. The second volume allows the center pickup to be added to any combination of the neck and bridge.
The RS1400 is a model with a similar construction but with quite different components. The RS505 is a less expensive similar model.
