The RS1000 is a Roadstar II series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1983. It was made in Japan.
The RS1000 features an arched birdseye maple top with ivory binding on a basswood or alder body bolted to a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez Super 58 covered humbucking pickups mounted in ivory pickup rings, a Hard Rocker Pro single locking tremolo bridge, Sure Grip II control knobs and Smooth Tuner II tuning machines.
The first generation RS1010SL Steve Lukather signature is a related model with a different bridge pickup and control layout and a ebony fretboard.
The RS1000 was discontinued after 1984. The RS1300 is a somewhat similar model which replaced it.
