The RGTHRG1 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2005. It is part of the H. R. Giger series with body covered in a graphic print of a portion of Giger's painting NY City XIX.
The RGTHRG1 features neck-through-body construction with mahogany body wings attached to a maple and walnut neck. The neck has a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with wedge sharktooth position markers. Components include dual Ibanez Infinity humbucking pickups, an Edge Pro II double locking tremolo bridge and a locking nut.
The RGT42DX is a similar model withouth the Giger graphic.
The RGTHRG1 was one of the initial products of the collaboration between Ibanez and Giger, along with the Iceman-bodied ICHRG2. Both models were revealed at the 2005 Winter NAMM show.[1]
