The RGT42 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2002. It was made by Cort in South Korea.

The RGT42 features a neck-through-body construction with American basswood body wings on a maple and walnut neck with a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with white dot position markers. Components include dual Ibanez infinity humbucking pickups, a double locking tremolo bridge and a locking nut.

The SRGT42 is a nearly identical spot model which was offered with different finishes. The RGT42SE is a similar model with a quilted maple top.

The RGT42 was discontinued after 2004 when the RGT42DX, which is similar but has sharktooth inlays, was introduced.
