The RGR8527FX is a seven string RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in late 2018. It is the first reverse headstock seven string production model. It was produced in Japan by FujiGen as part of the high end J Custom line.
The RGR8527FX features a 4mm thick flamed maple top on an African mahogany body bolted to a maple and wenge neck with Velvetouch treatment and a 24-fret selected rosewood fingerboard with flamed maple binding and Tree of Life vine inlays. Components include dual DiMarzio PAF 7 pickups, a Tight-End R-7 fixed bridge, a Graph Tech TUSQ nut, recessed Easy Access control knobs and Gotoh locking tuning machines.
The RG8527FX is a previous model which is very similar except for the reverse headstock.
The RGR8527FX was sold only in Japan in 2018; in mid-2019 it was offered in other markets. It was discontinued after 2020.
