The RGM55 is an RG series compact, short-scale, solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2014. It is the first of Ibanez' compact Mikro series guitar line which is not part of the entry-level GIO series line.
The RGM55 has a basswood body bolted to a maple Wizard miKro neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with sharktooth position markers. Components include a pair of DiMarzio humbucking pickups mounted in a black pickguard, a fixed bridge, and Ibanez die-cast tuners.
Differences from the more common GIO miKro models, the GRGM21/GRGM21M, include the 3-piece neck with a slightly longer scale and upgraded pickups.
The RGM55M was sold only in 2014 and was offered in two finishes: Starlight Blue (SLB) and Candy Apple (CA) red.
