The RGIXL7 is an extended scale seven string RG series solid body electric guitar introduced by Ibanez for 2019. It is made in Indonesia as part of the Iron Label series.
The RGIXL7 features an ash body bolted to a 27" scale maple and purpleheart Nitro Wizard-7 XL neck with a reverse headstock and a 24-fret Macassar ebony fingerboard with no position markers except luminescent side dots. Components include a Gibraltar Standard II-7 fixed bridge, a pair of DiMarzio Fusion Edge humbucking pickups with a coil-split toggle switch and Gotoh locking tuning machines.
For 2020 the body wood was changed to nyatoh and the fretboard was changed to ebony. For 2021 the neck was changed to a maple and bubinga construction.
For 2022 it was moved from the Iron Label to the Standard line except in the Chinese and Japanese markets where it was still classified as an Iron Label.
The RGIX7FDLB is a related model with a standard 25½" scale and a laurel burl top.
