The RGIR27FE is a seven string RG series solid body electric guitar introduced by Ibanez in 2013. It was among the first guitars produced for the metal focused Iron Label line. Like all Iron Label models it is produced in Indonesia.
The RGIR27FE features a basswood body with white binding bolted to a maple and bubinga Nitro Wizard-7 neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with white binding and no inlays. Components include a Gibraltar fixed bridge, a pair of active EMG humbucking pickups and a kill switch.
Variants also introduced in 2013 included the RGIR27E (which is essentially the RGIR27FE's twin, except with a tremolo bridge), the six-string RGIR20FE and its tremolo bridge version RGIR20E along with an eight-string RGIR28FE. A 28" scale length six-string, the RGIB6, was added the following year. A left-handed version, the RGIR27FEL was also offered in 2014. The RGIR27QMFX was a similar model with a quited maple top.
The RGIR27FE was discontinued after 2016. It was replaced by the RGIR37BFE.
