The RGIR27E is a seven string RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2013. It was among the first guitars produced under the metal focused Iron Label line. Like all the Iron Label guitars, it is produced in Indonesia.
The RGIR27E features a basswood body with white binding bolted to a maple and bubinga Nitro Wizard-7 neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with white binding and no inlays. Components include an Edge Zero II-7 double locking tremolo bridge, dual EMG active humbucking pickups and a kill switch.
Variants also introduced in 2013 included the RGIR27FE (which is essentially the RGIR27E's twin, except with a hard-tail bridge), the 6-string RGIR20E and its fixed bridge version RGIR20FE along with an 8-string RGIR28FE. A 28" scale length 6-string, the RGIB6, was added the following year.
The RGIR27E was discontinued after 2016. It was replaced by the RGIR37BE.
