The RGHRG1 is a limited edition RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2008. It is part of the H. R. Giger series with body laser engraved with a graphic print of a portion of a Giger painting. It was initially produced in Korea, but production was shifted to Indonesia mid-year.
The RGHRG1 features an engraved basswood body bolted to a maple Wizard II neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with a special Giger-inspired inlay. Components include a pair of Ibanez Infinity humbucking pickups with plastic covers with a Giger design on the bridge pickup and an Edge III double locking tremolo bridge. The volume and tone knobs are Giger-designed skull shapes. The truss rod cover bears a Giger signature.
The RGHRG1 was the final of six models in the H. R. Giger series. It was the first RG model with a Bolt-on neck in the line.
The RGHRG1 was limited to 200 units & offered only in 2008.
