The RGD71ALPA is a seven string RGD series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2021. It was produced in Indonesia as part of the metal focused Axion Label line, replacing the RGD71AL.
The RGD series guitars have a body based on the RG series but with special bevels and deep scoop cuts in the horns. They also have extra long 26½" scale necks.
The RGD71ALPA features a poplar burl top on a layered ash and nyatoh body bolted to a panga panga and walnut neck with a Macassar ebony fingerboard with 24 Sub Zero treated frets, white step offset dot position markers and luminescent side dots. Components include a pair of Bare Knuckle Aftermath 7 humbuckers, a set of 7 indiviually mounted Mono-rail bridges, a plastic nut, Gotoh locking tuning machines and Schaller S-Lock strap lock pins. It also has a luminescent Ibanez headstock logo.
The RGD71ALMS is a related model with a multi-scale neck, nyatoh body and Fishman Fluence pickups. The RGD70ALNB is a related model with a nyatoh body, double locking tremolo bridge and DiMarzio pickups.
The RGD71ALPA was discontinued after 2024.
