The RGD71AL is a seven string RGD series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2019. It was produced in Indonesia as part of the metal focused Axion Label line.
The RGD series guitars have a body based on the RG series but with special bevels and deep scoop cuts in the horns. They also have extra long 26½" scale necks.
The RGD71AL features a 5mm thick flamed maple top on a layered ash body bolted to a panga panga and walnut neck with a Macassar ebony fingerboard with 24 Sub Zero treated frets, white step offset dot position markers and luminescent side dots. Components include a pair of DiMarzio Fusion Edge 7 humbuckers, a Gibraltar Standard II-7 fixed bridge, a plastic nut, Gotoh locking tuning machines and Schaller S-Lock strap lock pins. It also has a luminescent Ibanez headstock logo.
The RGD71ALMS is a related model with a multi-scale neck and a nyatoh body. The RGD61AL is a similar six string model with a birdseye maple fretboard.
The RDG71AL was discontinued after 2020. It was replaced by the RGD71ALPA which has a poplar burl top and Bare Knuckle pickups among other minor changes.
