The RGD2127Z is a seven-string RGD series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2010. It was produced in Japan by Fujigen as part of the upscale Prestige line.
The RGD2127Z was one of the initial models in the RGD series, which features a body that is based on the RG series but adds bevels on the body edges and horns. The RGD models also have 26½" scale necks.
The RGD2127Z features a basswood body bolted to a titanium reinforced maple and wenge neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with small white dot position markers. Components include Ibanez V77 Custom and V87 Custom humbucking pickups, an Edge Zero 7 double locking tremolo bridge with a removable ZPS tuning stabilizer and Gotoh tuning machines.
Other RGD models include the six-string RGD2120Z Prestige and the RGD320Z. In 2011, new seven-string RGD models were introduced as the RGD7320Z and RGD7321.
The RGD2127FX is a similar model with a fixed bridge.
The RGD2127Z was discontinued after 2017.
