The RGA8 is an eight-string RGA series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2010. It is the first eight-string RGA model and the second mass produced eight-string Ibanez overall, following the RG2228.
The RGA8 features an arched-top mahogany body bolted to a titanium-reinforced maple and walnut neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot position markers. Components include dual, covered Ibanez active humbucking pickups with an Active EQ control, a fixed bridge and a locking nut.
For 2011, the body shape was updated with new, deeper scoop cuts on the horns.
The RGA8QM is a similar model with a quilted maple top. The RGA7 is a similar seven-string model and the RGA42 is similar six-string guitar.
The RGA8 was discontinued after 2013.

Active EQ[]
In place of the typical tone knob, the RGA8 has an Active EQ preamp controlled with a toggle. Activating the EQ boosts bass and treble while attenuating middle frequencies.
