The RGA742FM is a seven string RGA series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2017. It is produced in Indonesia.
The RGA742FM features a flamed maple veneer top with binding on a sculpted mahogany body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with offset dot position markers. Components include a pair of passive Ibanez Quantum humbucking pickups, a hard-tail bridge and Ibanez tuning machines.
For 2018 the rosewood fretboard was replaced with jatoba. For 2019 the mahogany body was replaced with meranti. For 2020 the bridge was replaced with the F107. For 2021 a new Transparent Gray Flat finish was offered.
The RGA42FM is a similar six string model. The RGA7420FM is a similar model with a tremolo bridge.
