The RGA42TZ is an RGA series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2011. It replaced the RGA42T and was available only in Japan.
The RGA42TZ features an arched-top mahogany body with binding bolted to a maple Wizard III neck with a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include the newly introduced Edge Zero II double locking tremolo bridge; dual, covered Ibanez active CAP-LZ humbucking pickups and a locking nut. A special feature is the Active EQ preamp which activates a mid-cut.
Similar models are the RGA42TFMZ with a flamed maple top, the RGA42TZE with EMG pickups and the hard-tailed RGA42.
The RGA42TZ was discontinued after 2012.
