The RG8570MW is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in September 2016. It was released to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Japanese handcrafted J Custom series.[1] It was produced in Japan by FujiGen.
The RG8570MW features a myrtle top on an ash body bolted to a titanium-reinforced maple and walnut neck with Velvetouch treatment and a rosewood fingerboard with a Tree of Life vine inlay. Components include DiMarzio pickups with two humbuckers flanking a single-coil, a Lo Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut, recessed Easy Access control knobs and Gotoh tuning machines.
The RG8570BB is a similar model with a buckeye burl top on a mahogany body. The RG8570Z is a related model with a flamed maple top on a mahogany body, an Edge Zero tremolo and cosmo black hardware. The RG8570ZXX another related model with a curly maple top on mahogany body and an Edge Zero tremolo.
Initial production of the RG8570MW was limited to 20 units, but it was distributed outside Japan beginning in 2018 and presumably more were produced. It was discontinued after 2018.
