The RG8540ZD is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2012. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the high end J Custom line.
The RG8540ZD features a AAA flamed maple top with binding on an African mahogany body bolted to a titanium reinforced maple and walnut neck with Velvetouch treatment and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with flamed maple binding and a Tree of Life inlays. Components include Seymour Duncan pickups mounted in a pearloid pickguard with a humbucker at the bridge and single-coils at the neck and middle positions, an Edge Zero double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut and a removable ZPS tuning stabilizer, and Gotoh tuning machines.
