The RG852MPB is an eight string RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2015. It is made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the upscale Prestige line.
The RG852MPB features a poplar burl top on a basswood body bolted to a maple and wenge Ultra neck with a matching headstock and a 24-fret birdseye maple fretboard with black dot position markers. Components include a Gibraltar Standard II-8 fixed bridge, dual DiMarzio PAF 8 humbucking pickups, a Graph Tech TUSQ nut and Gotoh locking tuning machines.
The RG852LW is a similar version with active EMG pickups released in 2014. The RG852 is a related model without the limba wood top and the EMG pickups.
