The RG8527 is a seven string RG series solid body electric guitar introduced by Ibanez for 2000. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the upscale J Custom line. It was also referred to as the JCRG7‑1.
The RG8527 features a mahogany body with a flame maple top bolted to a maple and bubinga neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and offset abalone dot position markers. Components include dual DiMarzio humbucking pickups, a double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines. The tremolo was initially the Lo-Pro Edge 7, but for 2003 that was replaced with the Edge Pro 7.
