The RG8527SP is a seven-string RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in Ocotber 2016. It was released to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Japanese handcrafted J Custom series.[1] It was produced in Japan by FujiGen.
The RG8527SP features a spalted maple top on a mahogany body bolted to a titanium-reinforced maple and wenge neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with Tree of Life vine inlay. Components include dual DiMarzio PAF 7 humbucking pickups, an Edge Zero 7 double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut and a removable ZPS tuning stabilizer and Gotoh tuning machines.
The RG8527Z is a similar model with a flamed maple top and cosmo black hardware. The RG8527FX is a related model with a fixed bridge.
Production of the RG8527SP was limited to just 20 units and ended after 2017.
