The RG8527FX is a seven string RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2015. It was the first seven string that is a part of the handcrafted-in-Japan J Custom line since the 2007 RG8427F. It was produced in Japan by FujiGen.
The RG8527FX features a flamed maple top with binding on an African mahogany body bolted to a titanium reinforced maple and wenge neck with Velvetouch treatment and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with flamed maple binding and Tree of Life vine inlays. Components include dual DiMarzio PAF 7 pickups, a Tight-End R-7 fixed bridge, a Graph Tech TUSQ nut, recessed Easy Access control knobs and Gotoh locking tuning machines.
The RG8527FX is a limited production spot model available only in Japan with as few as 20 examples produced. A left-handed version, the RG8527FXL, was also offered. The RG8527Z is a similar model with a tremolo bridge.
The RG8527FX was discontinued after 2017. A similar model with a reverse headstock, the RGR8527FX debuted in 2018.
