RG8520 - Black Opal

The RG8520 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in late 2016. It is made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the high-end J Custom line. It is a spot model sold exclusively through Japanese retailer Ikebe Gakki.

The RG8520 features include a 4mm thick bound flamed maple top on an African mahogany body bolted to a maple and walnut neck with a rosewood fingerboard bound with flame maple and a Tree of Life vine inlay. Components include a Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge, a pair of DiMarzio Fusion Edge humbucking pickups with a mini-toggle coil split switch, and Gotoh tuning machines.

The RG8520 was discontinued after 2016. A similar model with the same name was introduced as a normal production model for 2018.
