The RG7420EX is a seven string RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2024, replacing the similar RG7320EX. It is made in Indonesia as part of the Standard line.
The RG7420EX eatures a meranti body with multi-binding and a matte black finish bolted to a one-piece maple Wizard II-7 neck with a 24-fret jatoba fingerboard with white binding, white dot position markers, and black side dots. Components include a pair of direct-mounted Ibanez Quantum 7 humbucking pickups, an Edge Zero II-7 tremolo bridge, die-cast tuning machines, a mono-unit output jack with integrated metal plate, and black hardware.
The RG7421EX is a similar model with fixed bridge. The RG420EX is a six string version.
