The RG5170B is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2021. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the upscale Prestige line.
The RG5170B features a basswood body with black binding bolted to a maple and wenge neck with a Macassar ebony fingerboard with 24 stainless steel frets, black binding, offset mother of pearl dot position markers and luminescent side dots. Components include Fishman Fluence pickups under black covers with a pair of Modern Humbuckers with ceramic magnets flanking a single-width ceramic pickup, a Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge and Gotoh tuning machines.
The RG5170G is a similar model with a different finish, gold knobs and white pickup covers. The RG5120M is a related model without the middle pickup and with a maple fretboard and cosmo black hardware.
The RG5170B was discontinued in all markets except Japan after 2023; it was discontinued completely in 2024.
