The Ibanez RG470XL is an RG Series electric guitar model produced in Japan in 2001, and discontinued in 2002.

What sets the RG470XL apart from other RG models is its 27" scale length. It was the first baritone scale guitar that Ibanez produced, and is the only non-Prestige Series guitar to be made with an extended length.

Other features are a Lo-TRS tremolo made by Takeuchi Manufacturing of Japan, HSH pickup configuration, and a Wizard II neck. Also, the fingerboard is made of a special rosewood with a long grain to offer an attractive appearance, and provides a strong, bright sound.
