The RG470XL is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2001. It was produced in Japan by FujiGen.

What sets the RG470XL apart from other RG models is its 27" scale length. It was the first baritone scale guitar that Ibanez produced, and is the only non-Prestige Series guitar to be made with an extended length.

Other features are a Lo-TRS tremolo made by Takeuchi Manufacturing of Japan, HSH pickup configuration, and a Wizard II neck. Also, the fingerboard is made of a special rosewood with a long grain to offer an attractive appearance, and provides a strong, bright sound.

The RG470XL was discontinued after 2002.
