The RG450DX is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2015. It replaced a previous model with the same name but with significantly different specs. It was made in Indonesia.
This RG450DX features a mahogany body with a one-piece maple Wizard III neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and sharktooth position markers. Components include Ibanez Quantum pickups mounted in a white pearloid pickguard with a pair of humbuckers flanking a single-coil, a standard double locking tremolo bridge, a locking nut and Ibanez tuning machines. For 2015, however, the black (BK) finish guitars still came equipped with Infinity pickups and the Edge Zero II tremolo.
For 2018 the rosewood fretboard was replaced with jatoba. For 2019 the mahogany body was replaced with meranti.
The RG450DXBL is a left-handed version. Similar models are the RG450DXB (black hardware and white finish) and the RG450EX (black pickguard and white dot fingerboard inlays). The Steve Vai signatureJEMJR is essentially the same guitar with some additional body routing and different fretboard inlays.
This RG450DX was discontinued after 2023 and replaced with a new version with slightly different specs.
