RG450 is a model name which has been applied to several distinct RG series guitar models. Features common to all these RG450 variants include the RG body, pickguard-mounted pickups in an HSH (humbucker, single coil, humbucker) configuration and a double locking tremolo bridge. The RG450 is a slightly less-expensive variant of the iconic RG550.

RG450 commonly refers to one of these models:

  • RG450 (1986); made in Japan, rounded-edge Roadstar body style, Edge tremolo, Ibanez IBZ/Super 7F pickups, square heel neck joint, black pickguard, rosewood fretboard
  • RG450 (1990–1991); made in Japan, TRS-101 tremolo, RG4 (custom) pickups, tilt neck joint, black pickguard, maple fretboard.
  • RG450 (1992–1993); made in Japan, Edge tremolo, V1/S1/V2 pickups, square heel neck joint, black pickguard, rosewood fretboard.
  • RG450 (1994–1995); made in Korea, Lo-TRS II tremolo, Infinity pickups, All-access neck joint, black pickguard, maple fretboard.
  • RG450 (2009); made in Japan, sold only in China, similar to the RG1450.

  • RG450DX (1994–1997); made in Korea, triangle (1994–95) or sharktooth (1996–97) position markers, mirror or pearloid pickguard (depending on finish)
