The RG421PB is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2016. It was produced in Indonesia.
The RG421PB features a poplar burl top on a mahogany body bolted to a maple Wizard III neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot position markers. Components include a fixed bridge, a pair of Ibanez Quantum humbucking pickups mounted in pickup rings, a plastic nut, and Ibanez die-cast tuning machines.
For 2018 the rosewood fretboard was replaced with jatoba.[1] For 2019 the mahogany body was replaced with meranti. For 2020 the bridge was replaced with the new F106.
The RG421CW, RG421RW and RG421QM are similar models with, respectively, claro walnut, rosewood, and quilted maple tops. The RG421 is a version without the exotic top. The RG7421PB is a seven string version.
This RG421PB was discontinued after 2023 and replaced for 2024 with a new version which has direct-mounted pickups and a different output jack.
