The RG3550MZ is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2009. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the upscale Prestige line.
The RG3550MZ features a basswood body bolted to a maple and walnut neck with a 24-fret maple fingerboard with binding. Components include pickguard mounted DiMarzio pickups with two black and white zebra humbuckers flanking a single-coil, an Edge Zero double locking tremolo bridge with a ZPS3 tuning stabilizer and Gotoh tuning machines.
For 2010, the Super Wizard neck profile was renamed Super Wizard HP and KTS titanium reinforcement rods were added. For 2012, the wedge sharktooth fretboard position markers were replaced with simple black dot markers.
