The RG2XXV 25th Anniversary is an RG series solid body electric guitar model offered by Ibanez in 2012. It was produced to mark the twenty-fifth anniversary of the RG line and as a tribute to the original 1987 RG550.
The RG2XXV features a basswood body bolted to a maple Wizard III neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include Ibanez Infinity pickups mounted in a black pickguard with a pair of humbuckers flanking a single-coil and an Edge Zero II double locking tremolo bridge with a removable ZPS tuning stabilizer.
The RG2XXV was offered in two fluorescent colors: pink and yellow. The headstock and fretboard inlays match the body color. It was also equipped from the factory with color-matched DR Hi-Def Neon strings.
Other twenty-fifth anniversary guitar models were the RG1XXV and the RG3XXV as well as the S1XXV. The RG1XXV differs from the others in that it was produced in the factory which produces the Premium series; the others were made alongside the standard Indonesian production.
The RG2XXV is essentially a RG350MZ except for the wood species used for the fretboard (rosewood instead of maple) and the neon dot inlays.
The RG2XXV was produced only in 2012.
