The RG2EX1 is a hard-tailRG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2005. It was a spot model which was sold exclusively by the American retail chain Guitar Center.
The RG2EX1 features a basswood body with white binding bolted to a maple Wizard III neck with a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include dual humbucking pickups and a fixed bridge. The IBZ by EMG pickups were discontinued in 2008; they were replaced by covered Ibanez V7 and V8 pickups.
A similar guitar model is available in Europe as the RGR321EX and in Japan as the IRG1. A white-finished version is available as the RG2EX2 and a tremolo-equipped version as the RG2EXT1, both also Guitar Center exclusives.
