The RG270 is an RG series solid body electric guitar introduced by Ibanez in 1994. It was produced in South Korea by Cort. This was the first model to carry the RG270 moniker, but several variations would follow through the years.
This RG270 features a basswood body bolted to a maple Wizard II neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot position markers. Components include a single locking tremolo bridge and Ibanez Powersound pickups.
This version was offered only in Europe. A similar model with a maple fretboard was offered concurrently in the USA. The RG270DX is a similar model with sharktooth fretboard inlays.
This model was replaced in 1996 with the RG270R which differs in little but name.
