The RG2550MZA is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2015. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the upscale Prestige line.
The RG2550MZA features a basswood body bolted to a maple and walnut Wizard HP neck with a 24-fret maple fingerboard with small black dot position markers. Components include DiMarzio pickups with two humbuckers flanking a single-coil, an Edge Zero double locking tremolo bridge with a removable ZPS tuning stabilizer and Gotoh tuning machines.
It is similar to the RG2550MZ which was produced in 2009, except that earlier model had wedge sharktooth inlays and used different pickups. The RG2570MZA and RG2550ZA which were introduced along with the RG2550MZA in 2015 are very similar models; the RG2570MZA simply lacks this model's pickguard while the RG2550ZA has a rosewood fingerboard with white inlays.
