The RG2550EX is an RG series solid body electric guitar introduced by Ibanez in 2003. It was made in Japan and replaced the RG550EX with new pickups and inclusion under the Prestige banner.
The RG2550EX features a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with brown mirror dot position markers. Components include DiMarzio IBZ pickups mounted in a brown mirror pickguard with a pair of humbuckers flanking a single-coil, an Edge Pro double locking tremolo bridge and Gotoh tuning machines.
The RG2550LTD is a similar model with sharktooth fretboard inlays.
It was replaced for 2005 by the RG2550E with differences including a new neck construction and smaller fretboard inlays.
