The RG2540ZEXA is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2015. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the upscale Prestige line.
The RG2540ZEXA features an ash body bolted to a maple and wenge Wizard HP Prestige neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot position markers. Components include DiMarzio pickups with a Norton humbucker at the bridge and a pair of Virtual Vintage Heavy Blues 2 single-coils in the neck and middle positions, an Edge Zero double locking tremolo bridge with a removable ZPS tuning stabilizer and Gotoh tuning machines.
This model replaced the RG2540ZEX which uses different pickups but is otherwise similar.
The RG2540ZEXA was discontinued after 2017.
