The RG2420 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2001. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the upscale Prestige line. It was a spot model which never appeared in a catalog; it was likely produced as an exclusive for one of the Japanese retailers.
The RG2420 features a quilted maple top on a mahogany body bolted to a maple Ultra neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with offset abalone dot position markers. Components include a pair of DiMarzio humbucking pickups, a Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
The RG2680 is a similar model with a middle single-coil pickup.
The RG2420 was sold only in Japan and was discontinued after 2001.
