The RG1880 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1999. It is made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the high end J Custom line.
The RG1880 features a mahogany body with a 4mm thick AAA+ to AAAA grade flame maple top bolted to a J Custom neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and offset dot position markers. Components include DiMarzio pickups with a pair of humbuckers flanking a single-coil, a Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines. The neck was initially a three piece maple construction, but for 2000 this was replaced by a five piece maple and walnut neck.
The RG1880F is a nearly identical model with a slightly higher grade flame maple top. The RG1880S is a very similar model with pearl nickel hardware. The RG1880C is a similar model with a curly maple top. The RG1808 is a somewhat similar model with a solid flame maple body and an ebony fretboard from 1996.
