The RG1820X is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2005. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the upscale Prestige line.
The RG1820X features a basswood body bolted to a maple and walnut neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and small pearloid dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez humbucking pickups and a Double Edge Pro double locking tremolo bridge with a L.R. Baggs active piezo pickup saddles which offer an acoustic-like tone. Controls consist of a volume, tone and 5-way selector for the magnetic pickups plus a separate volume and 2-band EQ for the piezo along with a 3-way toggle for selecting magnetic pickup only, piezo only or mixed output.
It replaced the similar RG1620X, adding the stacked tone control for the piezo.
The RG1820X was discontinued after 2009. It was the last RG model featuring a piezo.
