The RG170 is a solid body electric guitar introduced by Ibanez in 1999. This version is made in Japan for the Japanese market.

This RG170 features a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a color-matched headstock and 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include a synchronized tremolo bridge, Ibanez pickups and a pearloid pickguard.

The RG180M is a similar model with a pickguard and a maple fretboard. The RG120B is a similar model without the middle pickup.
